Opportunity
John Lewis aimed to revamp their iOS application for several reasons:

-
Platform Stability: The original development approach and the continuous evolution of technology had rendered the application unstable, prompting the need for a redesign.
-
Enhancing User Experience: Despite positive reviews in the Apple Store, the existing iOS app had identified pain points that hindered users' shopping experiences. The goal was to address these issues and make the journey smoother for customers.
-
Universal iOS App and Future-Proofing: The previous app functioned on both iPhones and tablets, but separate maintenance for each device was required. The app lacked compatibility across various screen sizes, necessitating a redesign to future-proof it for upcoming Apple products.
-
Accessible for All Customers: John Lewis aspired to align the application with AA accessible standards, striving to achieve AAA standards wherever possible. The objective was to create an inclusive and accessible customer app for a diverse user base.

Achieving Project Goals
The project objectives were successfully addressed by adhering to a stringent process, incorporating continuous user testing throughout the project, and demonstrating flexibility in adapting designs within the agile environment. Furthermore, we implemented two variations of the designs—one for launch and another scheduled for development shortly after the launch.
